Corporate Lighting Design

Manager Lighting Design - FREEMAN AUDIO VISUAL, Chicago, IL 2021-Present

Built and manage a team of 14 full-time and part-time lighting designers providing in-house lighting and rigging designs for events nationwide. Designs provided for general sessions, tradeshow exhibits, and meeting rooms. This team designed for approximately 350 shows in FY22 culminating into roughly 500 light plots. Developed processes and procedures for pre-production including drafting SOP, design budgeting, and handoffs to onsite lighting directors. Provided support and training to designers for both company SOPs and design/engineering and rigging techniques. Worked with the Director of Lighting Services on capital expenditure and new technology purchases. Other duties as needed including project design for various general sessions and tradeshow exhibits as well as the Manager of Lighting Services at IMTS 2022 in Chicago.

Project Lighting Designer - FREEMAN AUDIO VISUAL, Chicago, IL, 2018-2020

Serve as the In-House Lighting Director for the Chicago branch of Freeman Event Tech. This includes designing/engineering or providing oversight of contingent designers on meeting room, general session, and exhibit lighting for all Chicago branch produced shows. Local Chicago shows include ASCO, IMTS, RSNA, Housewares Show, among many others at McCormick Place Convention Center, as well as shows produced at the Indiana CC, Pennsylvania CC in Philadelphia, David L. Lawrence CC in Pittsburgh, Minneapolis CC, and America’s Center in St. Louis and many hotel spaces around the Midwest and Chicago. More recently, serving as Project Designer for the national Project Design Group, providing design/engineering in Texas, Florida, and Las Vegas.
